Head of the research team “ENSEMBLE”.

Background:

Gilles Clavier completed his Master’s in chemistry at Ecole Polytechnique in 1996. From 1996 until 1999, he participated in a doctoral program in organic chemistry at the LCOO laboratory in Bordeaux. Gilles then went to the University of Massachusetts Amherst for his post-doc studies. Since 2001, he is CNRS research at the PPSM laboratory of ENS de Cachan. In 2014 he completed his habilitation at ENS de Cachan and was appointed "Directeur de Recherche CNRS" (CNRS Senior Researcher) in 2016.

His research interests include the design, synthesis, and study of new fluorescent and multichromophoric organic molecules and nanoparticles. Gilles Clavier works on the synthesis of molecules with fluorescent properties, in particular with BODIPY or s-tetrazine, and elaborates all organic fluorescent biocompatible nano-objects.

Gilles Clavier is member of the coordination committee of the labex “CHARM3AT”, appointed member of the council of the Chemistry Department of Université Paris Saclay and elected member of the council of the Physical Chemistry division a joint thematic division of the French Chemical Society and French Physic Society.
